The Sun Faces the Cosmic Storm: Uranus, Power, and Inner Revolt
Through November 15: Sun in Libra
The Sun continues its annual transit through Libra, its debilitation sign, but with meaningful support once Venus enters Libra on November 2. Leadership, vitality and confidence associated with the Sun are regained once Venus arrives.
November 15: Sun enters Scorpio
The Sun descends into the depths of Scorpio’s mysterious waters and transit there through mid-December. The kingly planet prefers clarity and illumination, and struggles with darker side of Scorpio’s tendency toward secrecy and psychological intensity. Although Sun is strengthened by Mars’s presence in Scorpio throughout the month long transit transit.
Sun opposite Uranus
Sun, the signficator of confidence and authority finds itself facing off with rebellious and freedom loving Uranus. The opposition lasts for four weeks, but is exact on November 21st and the week preceding this date may significantly impact our perceptions of leadership, personal expression, and the roles we assume within society. Uranus doesn’t bow to kings or titles or tradition…it disrupts them. The result? A clash between the need for stability and the pull toward radical self-reinvention. This is not the time to resist change, but to lean into it consciously.
Mercury: Planetary Wars and Retrograde Descent into Shadow Work
November 9: Mercury Stations Retrograde in Scorpio
Mercury stations retrograde while in Scorpio. It is time for an intense period of self-reflection; to reveal our hidden motivations, thoughts and communication. This is an excellent period for work with a therapist or on your own with tarot, astrology or divination, journaling into difficult emotions, to explore what’s been deliberately hidden. For Gemini and Virgo rising, this retrograde period directly involves your chart ruler, so pay extra attention to communication clarity and consider signing important agreements once Mercury is direct November 29, if possible. More on this in your rising sign forecast below!
November 11-13: Planetary War–Mercury (retrograde) vs. Mars
The planetary war (graha yuddha) between Mercury and Mars heats up as both planets share celestial space in Scorpio. During this planetary conflict, Mercury is retrograde, and the battle results in difficulties for both planets. However, Mars, being powerful in its own sign, causes more harm to Mercury than vice versa.
This is not an ideal time for ultimatums, contract negotiations, or emotionally difficult conversations unless necessary. Aries, Scorpio, Gemini, and Virgo rising friends, this planetary war directly engages your chart ruler…proceed with mindful communication and emotional restraint. Heated disagreements and blurting things out impulsively might later be regretted.
November 9-23: Mercury Opposes Uranus
Mercury’s opposition to Uranus can brings flashes of insight, creative genius, unexpected information, or surprising news. November 18-19 — Mercury is exactly opposite Uranus (and combust the Sun). Stay alert for updates regarding an agreement you believed was finalized but now needs further review. Uranus operates through disruption, nudging us toward evolution whether we’re ready or not. Mercury’s rational and analytical thinking may become scattered and this can lead to overlooking important details during this time. Mercury retrograde in Scorpio already leans toward miscommunication and Uranus the additional quality of unpredictability.
November 18–22: Mercury Combust the Sun (Retrograde)
As Mercury continues its retrograde in Scorpio, it enters close proximity to the Sun which creates a combustion period from November 18–22. Mercury disappears under the beams of the Sun. This short window intensifies the internal nature of Mercury’s work: thoughts turn inward and clarity is harder to grasp. Because this combustion peaks just days before the Scorpio New Moon, it adds to the sense of mental fog, emotional overwhelm, and the need to pause rather than push. Communications may feel scorched. Be patient. Wait for the reset. What’s hidden will slowly emerge a few days after the dark moon has passed.
November 23: Mercury Retrograde → Libra
Mercury shifts backward into Libra, taking the focus from Scorpio’s depths back to matters of partnership and balance Mercury regains some diplomacy and strength in Libra but it is short-lived, so mark your calendars! This is a good time to revisit conversations or agreements from earlier in the month with fresh perspective. Clarity emerges as Mercury prepares to station direct near month end.
November 24-25: Graha Yuddha–Venus vs. Mercury (Mercury Retrograde)
Mercury runs headlong into another planetary war just as Venus prepares to depart Libra. Again, both planets suffer loss of strength due to the war, although Venus is strong in its own sign. Miscommunications in relationships, difficulty articulating what you need from partners, or unexpected tension in communications about relationships and values can emerge.
This planetary war lasts only two days, although it is a disruption to an otherwise positive transit of Venus through its own sign, Libra.
November 29 – Mercury Stations Direct in Libra
Mercury finally stations direct in Libra, bringing mental clarity and forward momentum to communication and partnerships. The fog lifts: decisions that felt murky become clearer. This marks a turning point—you’re ready to move forward with new understanding about what you truly need from relationships and how to express yourself authentically.
Venus: Magnetism in Motion from Libra to Scorpio
November 2-24 – Venus in Libra
Venus makes its annual move through its own sign Libra on November 2, finally regaining full strength after October’s debilitation and opposition to Saturn in Virgo. In Libra, Venus shines in partnership, diplomacy, artistic expression, and the ability to attract desired outcomes. This is an excellent window for relationship healing, but remember Mercury is compromised this month, so choose your timing and words wisely. Utilize this transit period to clarify your values around relationships and finances.
November 25 – Venus enters Scorpio
Venus moves into Scorpio with Mars and Sun. Venus’s natural expression becomes a bit more intense, possessive, and psychologically complex. Relationships can be passionate but also can lean toward the shadow side of controlling or obsessive. Venus in Scorpio can be very transformative, especially regarding personal values related to our relationship with beauty, diplomacy and romance.
Mars: Sensitive Warrior at Home, In Opposition to Chaos
November: Mars in Scorpio
Comfortable at home in Scorpio, Mars hosts Mercury, Venus and Sun throughout November. Mars becomes especially resourceful and emotionally potent, capable of driving deep transformation during this Scorpio transit. However, the Uranus opposition keeps Mars from settling too comfortably into the watery, mysterious depths of Scorpio.
November: Mars opposite Uranus (Whole House Aspects)
Mars moves through in Scorpio throughout November, maintaining its opposition to retrograde Uranus in Taurus via whole sign aspects. This opposition creates a persistent undercurrent of tension, volatility, and the potential for sudden breakthroughs or breakdowns throughout the month. A few days before and after the exact opposition on November 4, and especially around the full Moon on November 5-6 when Moon is conjoined Uranus and opposite Mars–expect the unexpected! This is NOT the day to get into any kind of altercation.
Jupiter: Brief Exaltation, Retrograde & Return to Gemini
Jupiter, already in Cancer as of late October, aspects all planets transiting Scorpio throughout November. Jupiter’s wise, expansive gaze lends grace to intense planetary transits through Scorpio this month. Jupiter can offer perspective and wisdom supporting transformation that ultimately serves our higher good. While Jupiter cannot totally eliminate the intensity of the planetary wars, the many Uranus oppositions, it can help us see the larger spiritual purpose in what’s unfolding.
November – Jupiter aspects Water Signs
From Cancer Jupiter casts his wise gaze to the remaining water signs, Scorpio and Pisces. These two houses are “loaded” in November, with Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars all moving into and through Scorpio in November, plus Saturn and Neptune are in Pisces. This benevolent but short-term aspect upon Saturn and Neptune in Pisces creates a harmonious marriage of wisdom and restraint. Jupiter’s expansive grace tempers Saturn’s austere lessons and can elevate Neptune’s subtle perceptions into genuine spiritual wisdom and work together to transform suffering into wisdom aligned with higher dharmic purpose.
November 11 – Jupiter Stations Retrograde in Cancer
Jupiter takes a turn, stationing retrograde in Cancer on November 11. Consider this brief period the first 11 days of the month while Jupiter is direct in Cancer as a preview of the longer Jupiter in Cancer transit that begins June 2026. Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces rising enjoy this boost the first few weeks of November! Jupiter remains retrograde in Cancer through December 4 and then returns to Gemini.
Saturn & Neptune: The Long Dissolve Continues
Saturn retrograde in Purva Bhadrapada / Neptune retrograde in Uttara Bhadrapada
Both Saturn and Neptune remain retrograde throughout most of November, continuing their work of dissolving illusions and demanding clarity between what’s real and what’s imagined. The boundary between spiritual idealism and practical reality remains porous and potentially difficult to navigate, especially for Capricorn and Aquarius rising.
Uranus-Pluto: Deep Transformation Locked in Place
The Uranus-Pluto trine continues its slow burn throughout November. Both planets hovering around 4-7 degrees of their respective signs. Although Pluto stationed direct in October and is ready to get on with it! This influence from this planetary duo creates a fluid channel for deep, structural transformation. The opposition from Mars to Uranus channels energy to the Uranus-Pluto trine, fueling the bigger picture transformational work that Uranus and Pluto are working on behind the scenes. Pay attention to which houses Capricorn and Taurus represent in your chart—this is where deep, long-term restructuring is happening beneath the surface.
November’s retrograde planets and oppositions strip us down to essentials. Let the inner work come first.
