A Mundane Analysis of the 19-Day Siege of the US chart: Why the hollow foundations of 2013 are triggering now. Originally published April 1, 2026. Research notes added April 20, 2026.
I don’t typically publish standalone mundane analyses here. My work is usually a guide for the personal, the internal, and the rhythmic. But what is unfolding in the celestial sky this month is too concentrated and too significant to be folded into a regular monthly guide.
Consequently, my usual monthly Vedic astrology forecast will be sent to subscribers a few days later than normal, by April 3 at the latest. This piece is different in character; I am writing from a mundane perspective using the Kelleher US chart (sidereal). The technical architecture here is nuanced and layered, so please bear with me!
For those who want the bottom line, you may decide to skip to the final section. For those who want to see how the gears of collective karma are turning, let’s look at the Madhya Bindu, or the midpoints of activation.
The Technical Architecture: Outer Dimensions
While Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are not traditional Jyotish grahas, they serve as ‘outer-dimensional’ forces that govern collective karma and generational influences. When these outer planets connect, they provide the systemic lens necessary to understand a reset of this magnitude. The traditional nine grahas then execute these energies.
The technique I am using is known as midpoints. While often associated with Western astrology, the Madhya Bindu (middle point) is a concept echoed in Tajika-based methods and certain Nadi traditions that emphasize exact mathematical relationships. I am treating the center-point between two planets as a sensitive activation threshold—a trigger point that remains dormant until a transiting planet crosses it.
The U.S. Natal Chart Pressure Point
The Midpoint: Between Uranus and Pluto in the U.S. natal chart.
The Degree: 12°30’ Pisces.
The Location: 4th House (The foundation of the nation).
The Nakshatra: Uttara Bhadrapada—the serpent of the cosmic deep, the foundation beneath the foundation of existence.
Richard Tarnas (author, Cosmos and Psyche) describes the Uranus–Pluto archetypal complex as an energetic field of revolutionary intensification and the eruption of long-suppressed forces. This is where that energy lives in the US chart. In April, we have a major activation of this point.
April’s Celestial Sky: Two Critical Tripwires
The US is currently experiencing three major outer planetary returns: Jupiter, Uranus, and Pluto. Because of these returns, the midpoints of transiting and natal placements are extremely sensitized and duplicated. Both are being activated in rapid succession in April.
1. The Transiting Midpoint (8°20’ Pisces) Transiting Neptune is moving through Pisces between 8° and 8°40’ all month, sitting almost exactly on the transiting Uranus/Pluto midpoint. Neptune becomes the dissolver at the crux of the unfinished revolutionary rupture of the early 2010s. It works from below, invisibly, on foundations.
2. The Natal US Chart Midpoint (12°30’ Pisces) The “Triple Planetary War” of Mars, Saturn, and Mercury is building toward this degree.
The Conjunction: All three planets gather in Pisces/Uttara Bhadrapada.
The Malefics: Mars and Saturn (the “Great Malefics”) are moving toward 12°30’.
The Weak Link: Mercury is debilitated in Pisces—its capacity for clear thought and rational negotiation is severely compromised.
The Exchange: Mercury is in Parivartana Yoga (exchange of signs) with Jupiter in Gemini. This does not rescue Mercury; it stresses Jupiter, pulling the nation’s legal and philosophical structures into the Piscean and Neptunian field of fog and dissolution.
Research notes — added April 20, 2026
When I published this article on April 1, I identified five activation dates in April based on transits to the US natal Uranus/Pluto midpoint: April 11, April 12, April 16, April 17, April 18, and April 19. Three weeks later, here is what happened on each of those dates. The notes below were added retrospectively from publicly sourced reporting; the technical architecture above remains as originally written.
The Sequential Triggers in April
What makes April 2026 unusual is not one dramatic event, but a precise building in increments. At every single trigger point, the Moon, as ruler of the US 8th house (crises/transformation), is present.
April 1: The Opening
Just after midnight PT, the Moon crosses 7°59’ Virgo, opposing transiting Neptune which is at the midpoint of transiting Uranus/Pluto. The 8th lord Moon illuminates the dissolution at the foundation. By 8:32 AM PT, Moon opposes the natal US Uranus/Pluto midpoint at 12°30’.

On April 1, 2026, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced retaliatory strikes on US technology infrastructure across the Middle East beginning at 8 PM Tehran time (approximately 9:30 AM PT) — within an hour of the Moon opposing the US natal Uranus/Pluto midpoint at 12°30'. On April 6, an Iranian strike damaged an Amazon cloud facility in Bahrain, confirming the announced threat. April 11 — Author's note. On April 11, 2026, US and Iranian negotiators began face-to-face peace talks in Islamabad, Pakistan — the highest-level direct US–Iran engagement since 1979. The Iranian government simultaneously assessed cumulative damage to its economy at between $300 billion and $1 trillion. April 12: The Fever Dream (Mars Conjunct Neptune)
The pressure at the transiting midpoint intensifies as transiting Mars reaches an exact conjunction with Neptune at 8°20’ Pisces. This is a volatile “fever dream,” occurring exactly on the transiting Uranus/Pluto midpoint. Mars provides the heat and the impulse for action, while Neptune sends out fog and the potential for delusion. At this specific activation threshold, the unfinished revolutionary rupture of the 2010s is being agitated by the warrior planet Mars. It suggests a moment of high-stakes action taken under potentially hollow or deceptive circumstances.
April 12 — Author's note. After 21 hours of negotiations, Vice President JD Vance announced at approximately 6:30 AM local time on April 12 that the talks had collapsed without an agreement. Trump subsequently announced on Truth Social that the US Navy would begin a blockade of any and all ships entering or leaving the Strait of Hormuz, taking effect April 13. April 16: The Simultaneous Hit
The focus now shifts between the two midpoint degrees simultaneously:
The Transiting Midpoint (8°20’): Mercury, debilitated, crosses this degree. Its compromised state pulls Jupiter in Gemini further into confusion, stressing the 7th house of foreign alliances.
The Natal Midpoint (12°30’): Saturn crosses exact on the US natal Uranus/Pluto midpoint. The slow, inexorable weight of the Greater Malefic settles onto the nation’s most volatile natal pressure point. The Moon is conjunct Saturn. The 8th lord is present for the third time.
April 16 — Author's note. On April 16, Joint Chiefs Chairman General Dan Caine held a Pentagon press briefing announcing the blockade had been "fully implemented" and had turned back ten ships in its first 24 hours. The Treasury Department imposed sanctions on more than two dozen people, companies, and vessels in the network of Iranian oil shipping magnate Mohammad Hossein Shamkhani. Iran's armed forces threatened to block shipping across the Persian Gulf, Sea of Oman, and Red Sea in retaliation. April 17: The Ignition Point
The New Moon in Aries and Ashwini (Ketu’s nakshatra) ignites a new cycle in Aries. This occurs at a timing crossroads: between the Saturn hits and the triple conjunction’s perfection on April 19.
The Dasha Shift: Simultaneously, the U.S. Vimshottari dasha shifts to Rahu/Ketu/Venus. In the natal Kelleher chart, Venus resides in the 7th house in Ardra, Rudra’s storm nakshatra. The nation’s internal clock activates the “Storm” energy of foreign entanglements.
April 17 — Author's note. On April 17, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi declared the Strait of Hormuz "completely open" for all commercial vessels for the duration of the Israel–Lebanon ceasefire. Trump responded that the US blockade of Iranian ports would remain in full force, and within hours the IRGC Navy disputed Araghchi's announcement. Separately, Axios and CNN reported that the US was considering releasing $20 billion in frozen Iranian assets in exchange for Iran's stockpile of highly enriched uranium; Trump denied the report on Truth Social shortly after publication, stating "no money will change hands." April 18 — Author's note. On April 18, Iran's Revolutionary Guard Navy formally reimposed restrictions on the Strait of Hormuz, citing "repeated breaches of trust" by the United States. Two IRGC gunboats opened fire on a tanker transiting the strait, and a container ship was struck by an unknown projectile approximately 25 nautical miles northeast of Oman. This is the moment where the technical architecture reaches its peak. Two Uranus/Pluto midpoint axes—one transiting and one natal—are activated simultaneously:
The Natal Hit: Mercury crosses the US natal midpoint at 12°30’ Pisces. As the ruler of the 7th (foreign alliances) and 10th (government), Mercury’s debilitation here is devastating. Its capacity for executive power is fully compromised.
The Transiting Hit: Simultaneously, Neptune reaches 8°40’ Pisces—exact on the transiting midpoint axes. The dissolver is at the crux of the unfinished collective rupture.
The 8th Lord’s Final Witness: At 8:44 AM PT, the Moon (8th lord) is exactly conjunct Uranus at 5°27’ Taurus in Krittika—the “Cutter,” Agni’s blade. The 8th lord bodily occupies one end of the axis while three planets occupy the other.
4/20 - Author’s note: Real-world correspondence. The technical architecture described above timed a specific event on April 19, 2026. At 11:44 AM EDT—the moment of the Moon/Uranus conjunction at 5°27’ Taurus in Krittika nakshatra—the USS Spruance (DDG 111) made initial contact with the Iranian-flagged cargo vessel M/V Touska in the north Arabian Sea and issued the first warnings under the US naval blockade. CENTCOM confirmed a six-hour compliance window. The Challenge of the Mercury–Jupiter Exchange
It is important to note that while Mercury is debilitated, it technically achieves Neecha Bhanga (cancellation of debility) through its exchange with Jupiter. However, this does not make Mercury whole, and it severely stresses Jupiter.
The cancellation simply means the compromised systems, the 10th house of government and the 7th house of diplomacy, are forced to function while broken. It is a “forced march” rather than a recovery.
Crucially, this exchange damages Jupiter. As the US chart ruler (Lagna Lord), Jupiter is the planet of wisdom and national vitality. By exchanging signs with a war-torn, debilitated Mercury, Jupiter is dragged into the Piscean field of dissolution. The nation’s immune system is stressed at the exact moment it needs its strength most.
For Those Who Skipped Ahead: The Degree Remembers
There is a precise historical precedent embedded in this midpoint degree. To understand April 2026, we look back to February 11, 2013, when transiting Uranus sat at 12° Pisces, almost exactly on the US natal Uranus/Pluto midpoint.
On that day, hackers breached the U.S. Emergency Alert System, broadcasting false emergency messages. The vulnerability was simple and devastating: default factory passwords had never been changed. The system meant to guide the nation through crisis was shown to be hollow at its core.
Fifteen days later, nuclear negotiations with Iran in Almaty resumed but failed to reach resolution. The diplomatic channel closed quietly, leaving a geopolitical wound unstitched.
The Thirteen-Year Return
The Infrastructure: The emergency warning systems shown to be hollow in 2013 have had thirteen years to be secured—or further compromised.

The Source: The overseas entity that breached the nation’s warning systems was never found. As Mercury (ruler of the 7th and 10th) enters planetary war near this degree, the hollow foundations of our leadership are being tested by the same ghosts. The degree remembers.
The Thread of Potential Grace
Underneath this architecture runs a single thread of potential grace. Jupiter is currently in Punarvasu nakshatra—the “Return of the Light.”
The deity of Punarvasu is Aditi, the boundless mother who restores what was scattered, stolen, or lost. Punarvasu’s essential nature is not the avoidance of hardship, but the specific capacity to return from it. It is the “arrow” that is shot, but eventually returned to the quiver.
The US is simultaneously experiencing its Jupiter Return in Gemini. Even while stressed by the exchange with a war-torn Mercury, Jupiter in Punarvasu carries the seed of what comes after. The compression of April is not the end of the story. Punarvasu’s promise is specific: The light returns. But it returns after the difficulty, not instead of it.
The Bottom Line
The serpent of the deep is moving. The absolute foundation of the United States are being tested.
But somewhere in the field of Punarvasu nakshatra, the conditions for restoration are quietly present. We are witnessing a systemic breakdown, but we are also witnessing the birth of the return of the light.
The light is returning, but first, we must navigate the deep.
